Personal Experience

Ms. Poole is a graduate of the North Carolina State University and the Campbell University School of Law.

Ms. Poole utilized her time at Campbell Law to gain diverse legal experience and to establish herself as a leader and top advocate in her class. She excelled in several advocacy courses and was awarded top honors for her performance in Campbell’s Advanced Trial Advocacy course. During law school, Ms. Poole developed a love for legal research and writing through her work on an independent research project, which resulted in a book length novel legal argument for expanded constitutional protections. Ms. Poole served in several leadership roles, including as a member of Campbell Law’s Pro Bono Council and the school’s Leadership Council, as well as Co-Director of Campbell Law’s chapter of the North Carolina Center on Actual Innocence. Upon graduation, Ms. Poole was recognized for her dedication to service, leadership, and advocacy, being honored with the 2021 Student Advocacy Award.

During law school, Ms. Poole gained practical experience through her work at the Chatham County District Attorney’s Office. Following graduation, Ms. Poole continued her work in the Chatham County District Attorney’s Office as a volunteer Assistant District Attorney. Her time as an ADA positioned her with the unique opportunity to be in a courtroom daily, where she was able to argue motions and obtain trial experience. Her work as an ADA allowed her to develop into a poised and confident courtroom advocate. Ms. Poole then transitioned into civil defense practice.

Ms. Poole joined Pettey & Partrick at the firm’s inception. Her practice focuses on representing businesses and individuals in matters involving claims of personal injury, products liability, dram shop, and educational law claims. Ms. Poole continues to represent clients throughout the state at both the federal and superior court levels.

Ms. Poole’s recent litigation experience includes a favorable jury verdict in an action involving claims of alleged catastrophic structural damage to a residence, and another favorable verdict in an action involving claims of permanent injury resulting from a collision of a commercial vehicle with a farm tractor. Ms. Poole has also obtained two recent wins in the North Carolina Court of Appeals.
