Click here to downloadPartner Sean Partrick represents businesses, professionals, colleges and insurance companies in legal disputes involving accident and personal injury claims; commercial and contract litigation; trucking, transportation and motor vehicle litigation; construction defects; products liability; general liability, and premises liability/security. He also has significant experience in insurance coverage issues over a wide range of policy types including consumer and commercial auto and trucking policies, general liability policies, commercial and personal excess policies. Mr. Partrick also represents employers and educational institutions for claims alleging discrimination or termination based on race, sex, sexual orientation, age, or disability.
Personal Experience
Sean Partrick was born in Washington, DC in 1963 and was raised in Wilmington, North Carolina. After an enlistment in the United States Navy as a cryptologist and Mandarin linguist, Mr. Partrick obtained his undergraduate degree in Economics from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and his law degree from Campbell University School of Law. Mr. Partrick started practicing insurance defense litigation when he joined the firm of Barber & Wilson, PA in Greenville, North Carolina in 1998. In 2003, Mr. Partrick joined Yates, McLamb & Weyher, LLP and continued his insurance defense litigation work in Raleigh. In 2023, he and Rod Pettey founded the litigation firm of Pettey & Partrick, LLP.
Sean’s litigation practice involves defense of personal injury suits, construction defect claims, commercial and contract disputes, trucking and transportation claims (including initial investigation and site inspections), motor vehicle claims, professional and legal malpractice claims, employment claims (including defense of claims alleging race, sex, or other Title VII discrimination), and insurance coverage claims. Mr. Partrick’s practice includes litigation in state and federal courts. He also has successfully argued in the North Carolina Court of Appeals, the North Carolina Supreme Court, and the Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals.
Mr. Partrick and his wife, Kim, have three children, two of whom are in the military and one finishing college in North Carolina. Mr. Partrick enjoys playing golf and traveling with Kim.
